Guildford College Childcare Student offered place at prestigious Norland College

Guildford College Childcare student Emily Rance has been offered a place to study BA Hons in Early Years Development and Learning at the prestigious Norland College in Bath, Somerset.

Emily, 18, is finishing the 2nd year of her BTEC Level 3 in Children’s Play, Learning and Development at Guildford College before progressing on to her new college in September.

Norland College, founded in 1892, is internationally respected for training childcare professionals who are recognised by their distinctive brown uniforms and graduate on to working for, amongst others, royalty and celebrity families around the world.

Emily said: “I have always wanted to be a Norland Nanny and this is a dream come true”.

After applying to Norland College through the UCAS system, Emily was invited to attend a gruelling day of panel interviews, Q&A sessions, discussion groups and presentations. Only 90-100 students are offered a place at Norland College each year and Emily received her offer a week after the interview process. She will now go on to spend three years in college followed by a year working as a New Qualified Nanny.

Emily’s ambition is to travel the world as a Norland Nanny, and cites New York as a particular place she would love to work.
