Bracknell & Wokingham College dive into partnership
Bracknell & Wokingham College are working with the idiveteam, our local PADI 5* IDC dive resort to bring scuba diving to a wider audience. The College is the only PADI Educational Facility in Berkshire.
Stuart Carrington, Sport Lecturer said:
“I’m delighted to be able to offer our students this fantastic opportunity. SCUBA diving is a fantastic experience, a great way to meet new people and another possible pathway to employment that we can offer our students. I urge both current and prospective students to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.”
By far the most popular international diving qualification is the PADI Open Water Certification which qualifies students to 18 metres, and is a recognised throughout the world and is valid for a lifetime. On the course students will learn:
You learn things such as how pressure affects your body, how to choose the best gear and what to consider when planning dives.
You develop basic scuba skills in a pool or in a body of water with pool-like conditions. You learn everything from setting up your gear to how to easily get water out of your mask without surfacing.
Open Water Dives
You and your new friends you’ve made continue learning during four open water dives with your PADI instructor in a typical dive environment. This is where you have fun putting it all together and begin to fully experience the underwater adventure.
Campbell Christie CBE, Principal of the College said:
“Speaking as a former diver and Diving Officer in the Royal Navy, I know how much diving develops self-confidence, leadership, teamwork and camaraderie as well as a sense of wonder for the underwater world”
