Hadlow College

Hadlow College, one of the UK's leading land-based institutions, is located on a 256 hectare estate near Tonbridge with sites in Canterbury, South East London and the Medway towns.   Offering a range of full and part-time courses, including full honours degree programmes, it has over 1,000 Further Education students, 600 Higher Education students and around 2,000 part-time students applying every year.

Our degree programmes are validated by the University of Greenwich and include vocational programmes such as foundation degrees as well as full honours.  New programmes are constantly being developed with recent additions including the BSc (Hons) Sustainable Land Management and BSc (Hons) Landscape Management.

Our facilities

On campus we offer 160 rooms to students who either live too far away or whose course involves early morning or late practical duties.  In March 2009 we were awarded a Grade 1 Outstanding from Ofsted for the Care Standard which is provided to our residential students.  In addition, students aged 18 and over benefit from our new Grove Farm site which contains 55 en-suite rooms and communal areas.

In September 2009, our new animal management building opened to students for the first time.  Comprising a 120 seat lecture theatre, husbandry facilities for reptiles, small mammals, aquatics, amphibians and invertebrates as well as a veterinary nursing training suite for teaching purposes and a commercial dog grooming salon, this facility is one of the best in the UK.

Horticulture students benefit from Broadview Gardens - our 10 acres of landscaped gardens which are open to the public and contain award winning gardens such Full Frontal, the Hampton Court 2007 Gold Medal winner – as well as an extensive glasshouse complex at our Court Lane site.

Our equine yard is listed in the London 2012 Pre-Games Training Camp Guide as a venue for international athletes to practise prior to the Games and our 170 hectare fully functioning commercial farm is ideal for those students who wish to study agriculture.
