Central Sussex College

Central Sussex College was launched on 1st August 2005, created through the merger of Crawley College and Haywards Heath College. The College now boasts a total of five campuses across central Sussex in Burgess Hill, Crawley, Haywards Heath and East Grinstead.

Due to increasing demands for vocational and academic training, the College's facilities have undergone many improvements over the years. Forming part of a £30 million redevelopment, phases 1 and 2 were completed in January 2008 at our sixth form campus. Phase 3 of the redevelopment has been designed, and is now subject to funding approval during 2009/10 and a £60million redevelopment of the Crawley campus is proposed (subject to funding) – to find out more visit our Redevelopment pages.

The Crawley campus has modern training facilities to support the College's five Centres of Vocational Excellence in Care, Construction, Retail and two for Engineering plus industry-standard editing suites and a multimedia Mac suite. Superb Intuition hair and beauty salons, offering hair and beauty treatments to the public at excellent prices, and the popular Le Cordon Vert  training restaurant give students the chance to practise their new skills in industry-specific situations.

The East Grinstead Central campus is the home of adult education in the area with hundreds of courses on offer, alongside vocational courses in Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy. This campus also features Intuition hair and beauty salons which are open to the public during term time.

A wide variety of Construction courses are on offer at out Burgess Hill campus and Motor Vehicle Engineering courses at our East Grinstead The Birches campus.

At our sixth form campus in Haywards Heath there's a brilliant range of AS and A Level courses to choose from, plus an expanding range of vocational courses. Students have produced consistently high exam results, reflecting the very high quality of teaching, resources and support.  There is a £30million redevelopment currently underway, the first two phases of which have recently opened. Facilities include a new performing arts and theatre space called The Hub, alongside rehearsal studios and dance studios. This facility also includes a state-of-the-art performance suite, a new visual arts studio, complete with dark room and digital photography room, a digital language laboratory, English classrooms with IT facilities and film and media classrooms, which have the use of a fantastic new editing suite .
