Canterbury College

Canterbury College offers a wide range of further education courses leading to nationally recognised qualifications as well as a number of Higher Education courses. It has a large variety of courses for adults including part-time, evening and short courses, many of which are offered in the community.

The College also runs Work-based Learning programmes which enable 16-24 year olds to gain a qualification whilst continuing to work. Depending on whether they study for an Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship students can acquire an NVQ level 2, 3 or 4.

The College is active amongst local business with its own Business Development Centre. This has made strong links with the business community and provides staff training in the form of bespoke courses and ones that lead to specific qualifications.

Canterbury College is proud to be the only college in Kent with CoVE status for Travel and Tourism. As a result of this and the close working relationship the College has with local employers a large range of full and part time courses in Travel & Tourism is now on offer, providing vocational training and industry recognised qualifications.

The College benefits from its central location as it is just five minutes walk from Canterbury's vibrant city centre with its array of shops and cafes. Its ideal situation means that it is in easy walking distance from rail and bus stations and a park and ride.

On campus facilities include a sports hall and gym, learning resources centre, travel agency, refectory, coffee shop and training restaurant. The College also has an active Students' Union which provides a continuous programme of events including trips to gigs and festivals, activity holidays and sporting events.

The College is currently under going a 47 million pound re-development, Principal Geoff Terry said, 'Our vision is one of an environment that will deliver aspirations, support potential and offer real entitlement. We have the staff, the motivation, strategic plans for the future and the commitment of our educational partners on building good working relationships'.
