Bracknell & Wokingham College

Rated a 'Good' (Grade 2) college by Ofsted in 2007/08, Bracknell & Wokingham College prides itself on the quality of teaching and the value added to students' achievements.

The brand new £36 million headquarters building in Church Road opened in September 2009. Features of the new building include:

  • 26 fully-equipped IT rooms with 865 computers and 69 interactive whiteboards
  • Spacious Learning Resources Centre (library) in the Prow
  • Star Café with Starbucks coffee at college prices
  • Two hair salons each with 22 stations and accessible to the general public

  • A nail bar with six stations
  • Fully-equipped training kitchen
  • Sports Hall to Sport England standards with mobile tiered seating
  • Electrical installation cubicles for 32 students
  • Purpose-built carpentry and plumbing facilities
  • Two fully-equipped motor vehicle workshops
  • The Cube Performing Arts studio
  • A photography suite including darkroom for developing and printing
  • Media studio with top-of-the-range audio visual equipment
The College has approximately 1000 full-time learners with the majority based in the new Church Road headquarters.  The College will offer Diplomas in 2010. Over 400 14-16 year-old pupils from Bracknell & Wokingham schools have taken part in the successful Increased Flexibility and Young Apprenticeship Programme.
Over 10,000 part-time adult students study professional and leisure courses across 30 local centres.

The College has over 40 years of experience providing training and development solutions to a wide range of businesses as well as apprenticeships and Train to Gain programmes. Ofsted said: "The College's responsiveness to the needs to employers is outstanding".
